Weather: Rain on Fri, sunny on Sat.
Water: Med to high, 61 degrees
Hatches: sporadic brown drake
Time: 5-7pm Fri, 10-4 Sat

Comments: Arrived on the Brule Friday evening to find relatively high water and scattered rain showers. Fished near the copper range campground on friday night. No hatches apparent, cast a #16 tan elk hair caddis and caught over 15 eager 4-8" rainbows. Fish hit the fly while drifting, dragging, or submerged. Switched to a olive bead head wooly bugger and probed the depths to no avail. Caught more juvenile fish. Packed up and went for fish fry. On Saturday canoed from Stone's to Winnie, casting along the way. Brown drakes were coming off sporadically. Started with a #18 parachute adams and caught a few small rainbows. Switched to a brown drake emerger and caught a nice 15" brown near cedar island and had several other hits that I missed. I would guess that the action should be stepping into high gear with the onset of this warm weather. Other than that caught some rays and enjoyed the river.
